Discord · Hosting
A bot that stays awake without babysitting.
Free tiers sleep, and a sleeping bot misses the one command that mattered. A small always-on server with auto restarts costs less than a coffee and answers every time.
Pick the runtime, not the plan first
The runtime decides the start command, and the start command decides whether anything runs at all. Match it to your code, then size the plan to the bot.
Node.js — discord.js
Entry file index.js by default. Dependencies install from your package.json automatically on every boot, so a fresh deploy never runs stale code.
Python — discord.py
Entry file app.py by default, packages from requirements.txt. Same deal: push, restart, running.
Deploy in four steps
- Create a Bot Starter or Bot Plus server and choose your runtime at checkout — or switch it later from the dashboard (switching wipes the disk, so decide once).
- Point the server at your Git repository, or upload your files through the file manager.
- Set the main file if your entry point is not the default, and put your bot token in an environment variable.
- Start the server. The daemon watches the process and restarts it if it crashes — check the console the first time to confirm it logged in.
The questions people actually ask
Which language should I pick?
The one your code is written in. Choose the Node.js runtime for discord.js and the Python runtime for discord.py. Picking wrong means the start command looks for the wrong entry file, so match the runtime to the repo.
How do I deploy my code?
Push to Git and point the server at the repository — it pulls on install and on every restart when auto-update is on. Or upload files directly through the panel file manager. Either way, dependencies install automatically.
What is the main file?
The file the runtime executes to boot your bot: index.js by default on Node.js, app.py on Python. If your entry point has a different name, set it before the first start or the container will exit immediately.
Will my bot sleep when nobody uses it?
No. These are paid always-on servers, not free tiers — there is no sleep, no cold start, and no request quota. If the process crashes, the daemon restarts it.
Where do I put my bot token?
In an environment variable or a config file only you can read — never in a public repo, and never pasted into Discord chat. If a token leaks, regenerate it in the Discord developer portal immediately.
A bot that answers the first time, every time.
Bot hosting starts at ₹29 a month — less than the coffee you will drink debugging at 2am while it stays up.
